The Zaballos Foundation has announced that the “1st Edition of the Zaballos Foundation Awards
for the defense of constitutional rights” will be held on Friday 22 November 2019 at
Hotel Intercontinental in Madrid, during the foundation’s gala dinner. The organization
would like to acknowledge the value that the defense of these rights brings to society as well as to thank all
those involved in this commitment.

Ms. Delsa Jennifer Solórzano Bernal – Venezuelan Politician

President of the Permanent Commission for Justice and Peace in Venezuela, Vice-President of the Human Rights Committee of the Inter-Parliamentary Union,and Human Rights activist, who has devoted herself to fighting to ensure that each and every citizen has rights, life and freedom.

National Award

The Spanish Civil Guard for the 175th anniversary since its establishment

For its strong defense of the Spanish Constitution and all its principles, guaranteeing, through its capacities and traditional values, the equality of the Spanish people, providing them with the very best protection against any kind of threat to their rights and freedoms.

Spanish Red Cross

The Spanish Red Cross is a voluntary, public-interest humanitarian institution, which undertakes its activity under the protection of the Spanish Government, with the aim of alleviating human suffering, by taking immediate action according to each specific situation.

Encarnación Roca Trías

In 2005 she became the first female judge in the Civil Chamber of the Supreme Court in Spain. In 2012 the Spanish Parliament appointed her as judge of the Constitutional Court. During the course of her mandate, she declared the consultation on the political future of Catalonia held on 9 November 2014, as unconstitutional de 2014. Mr. Emilio Butragueño

For his continuous support to numerous humanitarian and social causes, forming part of Senate commissions on sports matters and as the advisor to the Secretary of State for Sports, working with Mariano RajoyMinister of the People’s Party (Partido Popular) back then. Director of Institutional Relations for the Foundation against Pulmonary Hypertension (FCHP), a not-for-profit organization formed by patients, family members and friends of people suffering from pulmonary hypertension in any of its variants.

Rosa Blanca Corporation

Sexual crimes committed by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) were left unaddressed in the Havana Agreements. Twenty-five women, who were recruited by force when they were children, and then raped and forced to abort, founded the Rosa Blanca Corporation. When they realized that those sexual crimes remained unpunished due to being considered excusable war crimes, they decided to create this corporation to report them publicly and give visibility to the victims of these appalling acts.

Mr. Sebastián Álvaro

In 2001 he launched the humanitarian project Hushé alongside the Sarabastall Association. Hushé is a village in the northeast of Pakistánat the foot of the K-1This project seeks to improve the education, healthcare and agriculture available in the area. The Hushé project is a comprehensive project aimed at enhancing development and improving the quality of life in this village in the northeast of Pakistan, which is the last trace of civilization before the definitive ascent of the K1.

The aim of the awards is to acknowledge professionals, personalities, companies, organizations, administrations, and official bodies who have made an outstanding contribution to promoting the values and defense of constitutional rights, through dissemination in the media, promotion and defense of these rights in all fields, as well as the work undertaken by companies and individuals contributing to the progress and social well-being by applying these rights in a noteworthy fashion.

ART EXHIBITION

Works of art will be displayed during the gala, and then there will be a silent auction. The paintings have been donated by important artists to the Zaballos Foundation in order to promote patronage in Spain
